Economics of Money and Banking is a training course in the field of economics and banking system. In the last three or four decades, the instruments that make up the modern monetary system have undergone a significant evolution. The financial crisis of 2009-2007 is a wake-up call that we need a similar evolution in the analytical apparatus and theories we system to understand. This course, prepared and sponsored by the Institute for New Economic Thinking, is an attempt to initiate a new way of economic thinking by reviving and updating some of the forgotten traditions of monetary thinking that have recently come up.
